Goal 5: Market the Libraries

Goal 5:  Market the Libraries to promote services, resources, and programs relevant to the

               needs of the students, faculty, and staff.

 

Objective #1:  Complete a marketing audit of the Medaille College Libraries.

(September 2009 – November 2009)

            1.a  Carry out a SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats) analysis

1.b  Identify and know our customers.  Discover which customers we serve best, and which we hope to serve better in the future. (Focus groups, surveys, etc.)

 

            Success target:

Objective #2: Create a comprehensive marketing/communication plan for the Medaille

                         College Libraries.

            2.a   Create a marketing/communication that will consist of: (October 2009 – May 2010)

·         A summary of plan

·         Goals of the marketing/communication plan

·         Objectives of the plan – What will be accomplished?

·         Positioning Statement – How do we want the Medaille College Libraries to be

perceived?

·         Key Message – What is the most important message we want to deliver?

·         Target Audiences

·         Strategies – How will we best deliver our message?

·         Means of Evaluation

2.b   Implement the marketing/communication plan (April 2010 – December 2010)

          Success target:

          Means of evaluation:

Objective #3: Evaluate the Medaille College Libraries Communication/Marketing Plan (December 2010 – February 2011)

3.a Find out what worked and what didn’t. Methods might include surveys, focus groups, statistical analysis of usage, polls, etc. (June 2010)

3.b Use evaluation results to redevelop of revise the marketing/communication plan.
