Interlibrary Loan Procedure for Rochester Campus
Fill out requests using the ILL online form on the Libraries' website.
1. Please use the patron’s name, if you are requesting for a student, faculty or staff person. This way the book can be checked out to the appropriate person. The patron will receive overdue notices if the book is not returned on time.
2. The ILL Librarians will place the request. When the Buffalo Campus receives the item, a bibliographic record will be created for it in Millennium and the librarian will put a hold on the book for the patron. The book will be sent into transit to Rochester.
3. The Rochester librarian will need to check the items in (Check-in mode in Millennium circulation) once they arrive in Rochester. Print the hold slip as prompted during check-in. The patron will be notified of the arrival of the requested items via email when notices run each day.
4. When the patron comes to pick up the item please check it out this way:
a. Find the patron record
b. Instead of scanning a barcode, you will enter “b” (for barcode), ILL, and the ILL number. FOR EXAMPLE: bILL49711701
c. You will then change the due date to the ILL due date. You will see “Change due date” on a button in Millenium.
5. When an item comes back please check it in and it will be set to “In Transit.” Send the items back to Buffalo.
