 Millennium Client Installation

This page details how to install the Millennium client to a computer.

Note: You must be logged into the computer as an administrator for this procedure to work

    • download from csdirect.iii.com
    • you will be asked for a login user ID and password, see password list in the library for this
    • click on the Download link (on the left hand side of the page)
    • a pop up window should appear, scroll down to the bottom of it and click I Agree
    • select the software you wish to download, for the Client this will be the Millennium Environment for Windows
    • select the most recent release (as of 5/7/08 the release is Release 2007, milup160_02.exe)
    • save the file to the local computer
    • run the file after it finishes downloading
  • Install the Millennium Client
    • run the file you downloaded, click Next
    • at the Choose Install Folder stage leave the default folder that is listed and click Next
    • at the Choose Shortcut Folder stage, leave as On the Desktop, put a check in the box that says "Create Icons for all users" and then click Next
    • at the Specify Millennium Server stage, in the Server Domain Name/IP address enter: mclib.medaille.edu
    • click Next
    • click the Install button
    • click the Done button
  • Verify Installation
    • Click on the green Millennium icon on the desktop and try to log into the system.

  • Troubleshooting
    • If you get a program or Windows error, make sure you are logged in as an administrator on the machine you are trying to install the client to
    • If you get a message saying not able to connect to the server go through the following steps
      • open a web browser and verify that the machine you are on has a connection to the internet, if no page comes up then this computer needs to be connected to the internet before trying to use the millenium client, if a page comes up go to the next step
      • restart the computer, if this fails to get Millennium working go to the next step
      • go to a computer that has Millennium already installed, if you cannot connect to the server from that computer then the server is down
      • the domain name for the client may have been entered incorrectly, uninstall the software and reinstall it making sure to use the correct domain name of: mclib.medaille.edu
      • try installing an older version of the client software, check to see if a new version of the software is available on the csdirect.iii.com website
