Mission and Goals, updated July 8, 2009 

The Medaille College Libraries supports the mission of the College by providing effective library services to a diverse population of students, faculty, and staff through a variety of resources, programs, and services which foster teaching and learning experiences.

Long-term and enduring goals:

• Goal 1:  Perform focused collection development to meet the information requirements of all academic programs.
• Goal 2:  Strategically implement library services to three distinct campuses and the online environment.
• Goal 3:  Develop and promote the ACRL Information Literacy Standards through a combination of library-based and collaborative instruction.
• Goal 4:  Manage and maintain existing technologies in use in the library; identify, evaluate, and implement appropriate technologies to support library operations and the delivery of library resources. 
• Goal 5: Market the Libraries to promote services, resources, and programs relevant to the needs of the students, faculty, and staff.
