Annual self-evaluations:

  • The annual self-evaluation is based on the calendar year. For the self-evaluation due on January 15, 2009, you will write your evaluation based on Jnauary-December 2008.
  • The annual self-evaluation should mesh with the contents of your portfolio and the guidelines for tenure and scholarship.

Scholarship Guidelines for Librarians:

  • Refer to the guidelines we developed for the Promotion and Tenure committee. You do NOT need to prove scholarship in all 4 areas of scholarship. You do want to adress the area(s) you will focus on when writing your self-evaluation and Professional Periodic Reviews.

Periodic Professional Review (PPR):

  •  The PPR is used to benchmark your priorities for scholarship.  You should reference what you have done in the past and what you hope to do in the future as you move toward review for tenure.

Committee Service

  • Dec. 2008: Courtney Grim, chair of the Promoion and Tenure Committee, recommended we serve on elected or standing committees. Deb Ceppaglia advises that this service is acknowledged, but not required. The librarians are active on many task groups and ad hoc committees and we should include this on our CVs, self-evaluations, and portfolios.

Note to all: I will be adding our "guidelines for scholarship" document when we finalize it.--Pam
