Scanner not recognized or no scanner available on Ariel computer

This will happen when the scanner has been turned off and the computer has booted up.  To fix this problem,

• Unplug the scanner from the power strip
• Unplug the scanner USB cord from the computer and plug it back in
• Unplug the USB cord from the back of the scanner and plug it back in
• Plug the scanner back into the power strip
• Press the power button to turn on the scanner,
• Restart the computer
• If the problem persists, contact IT
